The Best Restaurants in Reston, VA: A Guide

Reston, VA is a great place to explore and enjoy delicious food. From Japanese bento-type lunches to Mediterranean dishes, there is something for everyone. Here is a guide to some of the best restaurants in Reston, VA.

Ariake Japanese Restaurant

is a great spot for lunch. They offer bento and sushi bags, as well as an extensive list of à la carte sushi.

The atmosphere is pleasant and there is outdoor seating available.

Cafesano

is located on a corner from the South Lakes Shopping Center. They serve delicious pizzas, panini, salads and Mediterranean dishes in a casual setting next to Lake Thoreau. Start with the Dip Sampler with homemade red pepper hummus and tzatziki, served with warm pita.

Pizzas are a good option and the salads are generous and fresh. Wine and beer are available, and there's a small terrace for enjoying an outdoor meal on warm days. You can also order takeout and have lunch at one of the picnic tables by the lake.

Founding Farmers

has expanded to 5 locations, including one next to the Reston-Weihle subway stop. With a spacious interior and a lively bar, Founding Farmers Reston is a popular spot for group lunches, after-work dinners, and nights out for couples.

Kalypso's Sports Tavern

on Lake Anne offers tasty Greek dishes.

The outdoor tables are a charming place to enjoy a meal and cocktails with beautiful views of Lake Anne and the Plaza.

Lake Anne Brew House

, a nano-brewery tavern with beautiful lakeside views from the terrace, brings Virginia's craft beer scene to Reston. The space is small, stylish and comfortable, and the terrace is one of our favorite local spots on a warm afternoon.

Pica Deli

is one of the small delicatessen shops scattered around Reston's office buildings. They serve daily specialties and sandwiches to workers. We like Pica Deli for its great sandwiches, which we can usually take and enjoy at home or in a local park.

Two of the favorites are Marco Polo, a chicken salad with white meat flavored with curry and grapes, and the special meatball sandwich on Thursdays.

Red's Table

overlooks Lake Thoreau in South Lakes Plaza, right next to Cafesano. Visit us early in the afternoon to enjoy a drink at the Happy Hour, or visit us for lunch, dinner or brunch on Sundays to enjoy the seasonal menu with local products.
